Copyright, Ethics & Intellectual Property Policy


Before final submission, authors must ensure that their manuscript complies with the following ethical and legal standards:

  1. Copyright Compliance:
    Authors must have full rights to use any third-party content (e.g., figures, images, datasets). Written permission must be obtained where required, and appropriate credit must be given.
  2. Originality & Plagiarism:
    Submitted work must be original and not under consideration elsewhere. All sources must be properly cited. Manuscripts are screened for plagiarism using standard software
  3. Ethical Approval:
    Studies involving human or animal subjects must include a statement confirming approval from an appropriate ethics committee and adherence to relevant ethical guidelines.
  4. Authorship & Contribution:
    All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the research and have approved the final version of the manuscript.
  5. Conflicts of Interest:
    Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their work.
  6. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
    Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work does not infringe upon any existing intellectual property rights. If any part of the work is protected under patent or similar rights, this must be disclosed at submission.
  7. Copyright License:
    Upon acceptance, authors will be required to agree to a copyright license. Vita Scientia typically publishes under an open-access license (e.g., Creative Commons Attribution License), allowing free distribution with proper attribution.
