Correction and Resubmission Policy

1.Purpose:
Vita Scientia is committed to preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record. This policy outlines the procedures for addressing errors in published articles and the conditions under which corrected versions may be submitted.

2. Types of Corrections:

  • Erratum: Issued for errors introduced during the publication process (e.g., formatting or typesetting errors) that do not affect the scientific content.
  • Corrigendum: Issued when authors identify substantive errors in the published article that may impact interpretation but do not alter the main conclusions.
  • Addendum: Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two qualified experts in the field
  • No submission fees : Published when relevant additional information becomes available post-publication, enhancing but not contradicting the original article.

3. Minor Corrections:
Minor errors (e.g., spelling, grammar, or formatting issues) that do not influence the article's content or conclusions may be corrected directly in the published version. A note will indicate that the article has been updated.

4. Major Corrections and Resubmissions:
If an error significantly impacts the data, interpretation, or conclusions, a formal correction will be published. In such cases, the editorial team may request a corrected manuscript to be resubmitted and undergo a new round of peer review.
Procedure::

  • Authors must notify the journal of the issue and provide a detailed explanation.
  • The editorial board will assess whether a correction, retraction, or resubmission is appropriate.
  • For accepted resubmissions, the corrected version will be published with a clear notice of the changes, linked to the original version.

5. Retractions:
Retractions will be issued when:

  • Findings are unreliable due to error or misconduct.
  • The work is found to be plagiarized or published elsewhere without appropriate disclosure.
  • Ethical breaches are identified post-publication.

Retracted articles remain in the public domain with a watermark and are linked to a formal retraction notice.

6. Author Responsibilities:
Authors are required to promptly notify the editorial office of any discovered post-publication errors. All co-authors must consent to proposed corrections. The corresponding author is responsible for official communication.

7. Editorial Oversight:
All correction or resubmission requests are subject to review by the editorial team. External reviewers or editorial board members may be consulted. Final decisions rest with the Editor-in-Chief.

8. Indexing and Archiving:
All corrections, retractions, and linked updates will be indexed and archived to preserve the scholarly record and ensure transparency.
