Peer Review Process

At Vita Scientia, we uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. This ensures that both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous, promoting objective and unbiased evaluation.

Key Features of Our Peer Review:

  • Double-blind process: Identities of authors and reviewers are concealed
  • Initial editorial screening: Manuscripts are checked for scope, originality, and formatting before review
  • Two independent reviewers: Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two qualified experts in the field
  • Decision timeline : First decision typically communicated within 2–3 weeks of submission
  • Revision process : Authors may be asked to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback
  • Final decision : Made by the editorial board based on reviewer recommendations and scientific merit

We are committed to transparency, fairness, and efficiency in our review process to ensure that high-quality life sciences research is published and disseminated.

Peer Review Process

Vita Scientia follows a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Each manuscript is initially assessed by the editorial office for suitability, originality, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements. Suitable manuscripts are then assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers for scientific evaluation.

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor may decide to:

  • Accept the manuscript.
  • Accept with minor revisions.
  • Request major revisions.
  • Reject the manuscript.

The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision after considering the reviewers' comments and the authors' responses.

Reviewer Ethics

Reviewers must adhere to the ethical principles recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and maintain the highest standards of integrity, impartiality, professionalism, and confidentiality throughout the peer-review process.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts or any part of the manuscript to publicly available artificial intelligence (AI) tools or services. Any use of AI-assisted tools during the review process must not compromise manuscript confidentiality, reviewer independence, or the integrity of the peer-review process.

Reviewer Recognition

Vita Scientia sincerely appreciates the valuable contributions of its reviewers. Reviewer identities remain confidential unless otherwise agreed by both the reviewer and the journal. The journal may acknowledge reviewers annually without linking them to specific manuscripts.
